About this model

Refreshes the garden on a real-estate photo without redesigning it. The camera, the house with its colours, windows and roof, the driveway, paths, fences and walls are frozen, and so is the layout: lawn areas, beds, hedges and trees stay where they are, with the same shapes. Only their condition changes. Two levels are available. Tidy gives a uniformly green, freshly mown lawn with faint mowing stripes, repairs bare and brown patches, cuts the edges clean, trims hedges straight, weeds the beds and tops them with fresh dark bark mulch, removes dead branches and leaves, and sweeps the paths. Lush does all of that, then fills the beds with healthy plants at their best for the season of the photo, makes hedges and trees full and dense, and adds a few seasonal pots by the entrance. The refresh stays honest: same species character, same season, plants at a plausible size, no new trees, terraces, furniture or garden structures, and no neon-green artificial lawn. The house keeps the sun and exposure it was photographed in. Useful for real-estate agents and photographers whose listing photos were taken after a dry summer, in early spring or while the garden was neglected, and for property managers who want to show a garden after routine maintenance. It is a tidy-up, not a makeover: to change the design itself, Garden Makeover rebuilds the garden in a chosen style.

When to use it

An agent lists a detached house in late August. The photos were shot during a heatwave: the front lawn is straw-coloured, the hedge is shaggy and the beds are bare. A gardener is booked for the following week, but the listing goes live now. The agent runs the front and back photos through Lawn & Planting Refresh on Tidy, and the listing shows the garden as it will look after one round of maintenance, with the house, driveway and layout unchanged.
