About this model

Turns a technical elevation into a black sumi-ink wash drawing on warm cream or pale grey paper. The lines of your drawing are kept as a tracing: roof profile, eaves, openings, plinth, level lines and any trees or figures stay at their exact position. On top of that armature, the template lays a full tonal range of ink, from dense black in window openings and deep recesses to faint grey washes for distant elements and sky, with white paper left for lit surfaces. The brush is controlled but visible: slightly irregular edges, ink pooling where a stroke ends, soft transitions instead of hard digital edges. There are no cast shadows; light comes from the tonal hierarchy alone, as in a traditional ink-wash plate. Paper grain and a faint scan imperfection finish the sheet, and the result stays strictly monochrome. An ink wash architectural drawing gives an elevation a weight and an atmosphere that a line drawing does not have. It suits competition boards, exhibition prints, book covers and portfolio spreads, where one strong sheet says more about the character of a facade than a page of technical views. No 3D model is needed: the template works from the 2D drawing you already have.

When to use it

A studio is preparing an exhibition on a timber pavilion it built in a park. The walls will carry large prints, and the technical elevations look thin at that size. The team exports the main elevation and the long section from its drawing set, runs both through Ink Wash, and prints them on matte paper. The two sheets hang next to the photographs of the built pavilion, and visitors read the drawings as part of the story rather than as documentation.
